Elopements are not something a girl born and raised in Texas is used to. In the south big giant events are more the go to- but this now Boulder wedding photographer can get-used-to-this!
You guys- the intimacy, outpouring of love from those closest to you, and photos of galore of the two of you looking your best? Hells ya! Give me all the Colorado Mountain Elopements! <3
About Marissa and Lukas
Marissa is a youth pastor in Texas, and Lukas plays football for the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Let me tell you- I don’t think that is the single most likely pairing of couples, but they fit together like puzzle pieces. Their love for Jesus was matched only by their love for each other. I feel like some of their goodness, joy, and happiness rubbed off on me and made me better for knowing them! The only downsides to these amazing elopements is my couples turned friends go back home and I don’t get to see them much. But that doesn’t change how happy I am for them and how grateful that I got to be their Boulder wedding photographer and photograph their elopement here in Colorado.
We started at their airBNB in Nederland, Colorado and then traveled to Barker Reservoir to take some stunning bridal portraits. (see below) After, we snuck Marissa off and hid her in the car until Lukas reached the ceremony site at the beach entrance of the reservoir. It was so adorable watching Marissa watch Lukas walking to the ceremony site. They were both so nervous and so excited to see each other.
I loved being such an integral part of such incredibly special moments. Every wedding is special to me, but these small weddings mean so so so much to me. They show me that these people trust me enough to have me there documenting moments that only their closest family are invited to attend. That is truly special.
