For those of you following you probably know I am wayyyyy behind on blogging weddings and sessions. We moved from Colorado to Nebraska recently and I’m settled in now and ready to get back at it! Without further ado….
Jaclyn and Matt’s Elopement
The reason you are all here right?
Jaclyn and Matt originally planned a small/medium sized wedding in Dallas Texas. Shortly into the planning process they decided that just was not what their hearts were telling them to do. We chatted about it and they decided an elopement in the mountains was perfect for their love and personalities. They decided they would have it in Crested Butte, the same place Matt proposed to Jaclyn! Seriously you guys, how insanely romantic is that?! They even asked me if “I would be ok with that?” Um, yes I am always ok with getting to be the Colorado elopement photographer!!!
I spent the whole day documenting the details, the moments and the memories as they unfolded. Throughout the day very little was posed or prompted. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, full of incredibly genuine moments. The only people in attendance were parents, officiant and a sister. The beauty of this Colorado elopement was that the intimacy created only pure, unstressed, love filled energy that could not be beat.
Seflishly, I loved loved loved having the relaxed time to photograph the candid moments, style details, and incorporate parts of the day to really tell the story. Weddings like these rejuvenate my passion for photographing weddings. They are really focused on what is important to them, and not as much about what is important to every one else. I believe that the added stress on wedding days comes from trying to make everyone else happy at your own wedding. Elopements really eliminate all of that and the result is truly magnificent. All of the photos in this blog post (except for a couple indoor photos) I shot on film.
