I may be your friendly local Nebraska photographer but I know how to hop on a plan! I absolutely love to travel and have an efficient and safe method for traveling with all my gear. In fact even if I am traveling for personal reasons, I still always take my photography gear. I do this for a couple reasons. One, because of course I want to photograph and document my travel and memories. Two, because I love when I get a chance to schedule in photo sessions in the locations I am traveling to.
That is how it worked out that I got to photograph my dear friend Cynthia and her beautiful family this summer! I traveled to Texas to visit family and friends during the July 4th holidays. I am originally from the Texas Hill Country and it is quite customary for people from this small town to travel back during the summers. If you ever get the chance, you must take some time to visit. I love the small town vibes, antique history, and incredible landscapes my hometown offers.
When I shoot family sessions, I often try to simply be an observer of the natural interaction. Yes I will do some posed photos and group shots etc.; but most of your gallery will come back as candid shots captured during natural moments. As a mom myself, I find that those photos always mean so much more to me and are heavily cherished in my household. If you love their gallery leave us some comments!
This entire session was shot on film and these are all fuji400h film photos scanned by The Find Lab. For my film junkies who read, these are all metered at 200 bulb in at 45 degrees. They are scanned on noritsu. If you have any questions about how your session will go with film feel free to reach out and ask!
